Making wellbeing our priority as a healthcare provider

At Pulse Nursing at Home, our healthcare professionals are compassionate individuals who provide high-quality care to our clients and support them to live the best life possible. Our teams work tirelessly to support our workers whenever they need it, whether it's clinical, compliance, wellbeing support or career progression. In return, we provide all of our employees with a range of activities, support and platforms to ensure they have long-lasting and meaningful careers with us.

How we prioritise our employees’ wellbeing

To provide our employees with the most effective and comprehensive style of working, we have taken a hybrid approach to be an inclusive business. Combining remote and office-based working, we have brought our teams closer together, created safe spaces for employees to receive support, advice and have fun. We regularly hold 'REER' lunches (Relax, Eat, Engage and Refresh) so our teams can come together, take a break, share pre-paid lunches and connect with their colleagues.

Earlier this year, we released our Wellbeing and Support Hub, an online portal tailored to our workers' mental health, wellbeing needs and professional development at Pulse Nursing at Home. We created the Hub as we believe our workers should have a valuable resource of information, support and a place to book CPD training courses in one central location. The Hub allows our workers to provide honest feedback on how they would like to see the Wellbeing and Support Hub develop.

Within the hub, we run regular topical workshops for our employees to attend. The workshops cover the different themes of mental health, such as stress and provide employees with advice, tips, information and websites to receive further support.

Our Supervisions and Appraisals Team are available for confidential wellbeing calls with our workers. The calls provide our workers with an opportunity to receive welfare and pastoral support. The team can also signpost them to the relevant services for issues outside of work.

All employees have 24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Programme, a personal support service that offers practical advice on everyday issues. If required, our employees can speak with a qualified counsellor and receive professional support from an expert.

We hold many fundraising events and activities throughout the year to support our sponsored charity of the year, Mind, and allow our employees to maintain a healthy lifestyle and have fun.

Choose to get active

Every year, we create new challenges and activities for our employees to keep fit, motivated and engaged. This year we ran a virtual relay where our employees across the business could run, cycle or walk a specific distance and ‘virtually’ pass on the batten to their teammate. No matter the circumstances, we ensure our employees have the time to come together and have fun.

Get connected

We appreciate that our employees have a variety of interests and hobbies outside of work. We ensure they can have time to get creative and share their interests with others. We run a variety of quizzes, clubs, games and tea and chat sessions to allow them to take a break from their working day, learn something new and meet new people.

Recognise your colleagues

At Pulse Nursing at Home, we take the time to recognise and reward our healthcare professionals for their hard work, compassion and dedication. Our Pride of Pulse Awards provide the perfect opportunity to say thank you to our workers and shine a light on those who have gone above and beyond. You can learn more about our Pride of Pulse Awards here.

We run many fun competitions for our employees to get involved with and raise money for our sponsored charity of the year. To support Mental Health Awareness Week this year, we challenged our employees to take photographs of ‘Nature and the Environment’ to support the campaign’s theme and encourage our employees to get out into nature. We received many photos which you can see below. Our two winners were also delighted with their prizes.

At Pulse Nursing at Home, we understand that no employee is the same and requires support in many ways for their health, happiness and wellbeing. We continue to develop as an inclusive business and ensure our employees are at the forefront of our focus.

We’re always looking to grow our team of experts. If you would like to join our team of healthcare professionals, then register with us below, or contact our team on 0207 959 1003. You can view our internal jobs on our parent company website here.
