The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #BreakTheBias. The International Women’s Day organisation wants to create a gender-equal world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

International Women’s Day is an opportunity for women to come together to ‘break the bias’ and call out gender bias, discrimination and stereotyping every time they see it happen. International Women’s Day has occurred every year for over a century. The first International Women’s Day gathering took place in 1911 and was supported by over one million people. Today, International Women’s Day has collective groups across the whole world.

What are we doing for International Women’s Day?
