The Hub of Hope app is the UKs leading mental health support database. Created by the mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, the app provides mental health support in your area. All you need to do is input your postcode and filter to the type of mental health support you need.

NHS - Menopause support nhs.uk/conditions/menopause/help-and-support

The NHS have a dedicated area on their website for help and support around menopause. This page includes guidance around symptoms, things you can do and how to find an NHS or private menopause specialist near you.

They help nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants, both working and retired, when they’re suffering personal or financial hardship. This is often due to illness, disability, older age, domestic abuse and the impact of coronavirus.

NHS Choices sets out patients' rights to choice in healthcare and where to find information to help choose. In addition, they have a 24-hour national helpline providing health advice and information which you can call for free by dialling 111 (UK)

Mind mind.org.uk

Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness, and promote understanding. They have a helpline available Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to provide information on a range of topics including:

  • Types of mental health problems
  • Where to get help
  • Medication and alternative treatments
  • Advocacy

Rethink rethink.org

Rethink improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness through a network of local groups and services, expert information and successful campaigning.  They have a dedicated advice and information line available Monday to Friday, 10am-2pm for practical advice on:

  • Different types of therapy and medication
  • Benefits, debt, money issues
  • Police, courts, prison
  • Your rights under the Mental Health Act

Samaritans samaritans.org

Samaritans are dedicated to suicide prevention. They are available 24/7 for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. They are not only for the moment of crisis, they work to take action to prevent the crisis by supporting people with ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. In prisons, schools, hospitals and on the rail network, Samaritans are working with people who are going through a difficult time and training others to do the same. The Samaritans offer emotional support 24 hours a day - in full confidence.

Shout 85258 is a free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging support service for anyone who is struggling to cope. Since 2019 they have supported people who are experiencing a personal crisis including people who are anxious, stressed, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and who need immediate support. Shout can help with urgent issues such as:

  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Abuse or assault
  • Self-harm
  • Bullying
  • Relationship challenges

CALM run a free and confidential helpline and webchat – 7 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs to talk about life’s problems. They support those bereaved by suicide, through the Support After Suicide Partnership (SASP).
