Throughout November, we will be supporting Movember. The month-long campaign takes place once a year to raise awareness of men’s health, suicide prevention and prostate and testicular cancer. In today’s blog, we discuss the purpose of Movember, the charity’s values and what you can do to support Movember this year.
What is the purpose of Movember?
Movember is a campaign that occurs every November and is run by the charity Movember, the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. Since 2003, the charity has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects worldwide to transform health services and support for men. Their purpose is to make men live happier, healthier and longer lives. By 2030, the charity aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%.
The charity has three values that steer everything they do. Their values keep them focused on who they are and what they want to achieve. Movember’s three values are:
Fun “We’re all about havin’ fun doin’ good.”
Respect “We are caring and inclusive.”
Humble “We never forget why we’re here.”
